Our Story

SPARE/WARE was founded in 2025 on one belief: bowling deserves the same respect as any other sport.

The game’s history runs as deep as any played in America. Its athletes are just as skilled. Its culture shaped decades of style and community. Yet it rarely gets space in the wider world. Fans of other sports have brands that carry the game into everyday life. Bowling had shirts made for one night a week and nothing for the other six.

We started SPARE/WARE to close that gap. We make modern apparel that grows out of the culture of the sport and is designed for the rest of life. Clean. Intentional. Unapologetically distinct. There are no pins and no clichés, just pieces that stand on their own and carry the game with them.

We build slowly on purpose. Every drop is small by design, and each one shapes the next.

The belief goes beyond what we make. A portion of every purchase goes to the SPARE/WARE Youth Development Fund. The fund supports youth programs across the country with equipment, coaching resources and chances for young bowlers to compete. That keeps the next generation connected to the game.

SPARE/WARE was founded by Ryan Skrzypczynski, a U.S. Army veteran. It is founder-led and veteran-owned, operated by Spare Ware Designs, LLC from the suburbs of Chicago.

What We Stand For

COMMUNITY

Built by showing up.

Community is what keeps a sport alive: people showing up, bringing someone new and making room at the table. We exist to build more of it.

KAIZEN

Always getting better.

We improve every day and help the people and the sport around us do the same. We aim to leave both better than we found them.

HOSPITALITY

Retail, treated as a craft.

We pick up on the little things, remember them and make every experience worth coming back to.

INTENTION

Every piece earns its place.

Nothing gets made just to fill a shelf. Every design and every drop is deliberate.

REINVESTMENT

Doing good is good business.

A portion of every purchase goes to the SPARE/WARE Youth Development Fund to support the next generation of bowlers across the country.
